A.F.I. has and is still assembling a group of CCW instructors that no other company or facilitator can match.
All of A.F.I.’s CCW instructors are either full time career law enforcement officers, or retired career law enforcement officers. Our instructors come with a huge variety of skill sets, ranging from S.W.A.T operators, Homicide Detectives, Emergency Management and Special Enforcement Units. Many of our instructors, to include myself, are military veterans.
Why are A.F.I.’s instructors and our curriculum not only different, but far superior to any other? That is because of our first-hand knowledge of firearms training, current laws and rules imposed by issuing agencies and most importantly, we deal with the people CCW holders have chosen to arm themselves against on a daily, if not hourly basis.
Why would anyone choose to take any course, let alone a CCW course, in regard to their own personal and family’s day to day safety from anyone else but full time or career retired law enforcement officers.
Personal safety and public safety are the thread in which the fabric of our existence is woven from. We do it every day all day, regardless if we are on duty or not.
A.F.I. offers CCW classes for Neveda, Siskiyou, Placer, Plumas, Lassen, Butte, Glenn, Tehama, Modoc, Sacramento, Yolo and the City of Corning
With SB2, all renewal CCW holders are required to take 8 hours of training.
All initial CCW applicants are required to take 16 hours of training.
A.F.I. has broken up the 8-hour renewal class into two separate 4-hour classes. One of those classes will be conducted on a Friday at the Chico Rod and Gun Club in upper Bidwell Park, Chico. Time will be 4:30-8:30 pm.
All firearms brought to this facility WILL be unloaded and stored in a soft or hard case. ANY loaded firearms brought into this facility will result with an immediate removal from the class without refunding your ticket.
You will need a minimum of 100 rounds of ammunition for 1 firearm that you will be training with, and at least 10 rounds of ammunition for each additional firearm(s) you are wishing to add or qualify with in order to have on your permit.
SB2 has also made it unlawful for you to possess a firearm that is not registered to you, therefor ALL firearms you will be putting on your permit MUST be registered in your name. This means spouses can NO LONGER share firearms between the two and have the same pistols on two separate CCW permits.
The Chico Rod and Gun Club also has a Max velocity of 1200 FPS for firearms and ammunition. If your firearm(s) exceeds that threshold you CANNOT bring it to this class.
The other 4-hour classroom only class will be held at 3965 Morrow Ln, Chico, (Butte County Search and Rescue Facility at bottom of the Skyway) 95928. These classes will follow the range class on either the next day or on Mondays following the Range Class. Please pay attention to these dates, as our schedule will vary.
SB2 has placed a huge requirement on instructors to teach required information as well as required hourly trainings, down to the minute. Failure to do so can result in criminal and civil penalties for instructors.
Therefor: YOU MUST BE EARLY OR ON TIME for each and every class. Failure to do so will result in you not being allowed to take that particular class and you WILL NOT be refunded.
You MUST register and pay for these classes. Drop ins will no longer be allowed.
If you have any questions, feel free to call us at 530-990-1807.
YOU WILL ALSO NEED TO DOWNLOAD A PROOF OF EXAM.
The proof of exams is further down on this page. There are two. 1 is for renewal CCW holders, the other is for initial CCW applicants.
Please download the Proof of Exam and fill it out prior to coming to your 1st class. Thank you.
